The Sant’Antonio Hospitality House in Varallo Sesia, in the province of Vercelli, in via Morgiazzi 54, managed by the Doctrinaries, has been completely renovated and offers, all year round, accommodation opportunities to groups, religious families, pilgrims and tourists who can spend pleasant holidays in an atmosphere of serenity and peace.
The structure, with elevator, has three single-use rooms with independent bathroom and 18 single, double or triple rooms with disabled access and shared bathrooms; also available to guests is a games room and a lounge equipped for seminars or business meetings.

Here’s a tip for a four-day stay.

1st day

Arrival and accommodation in the rooms; free visit, or with a guide on request, to the Collegiata and Madonna delle Grazie churches with paintings by Gaudenzio Ferrari. Walk in the center of Varallo Sesia, with its typical mountain architecture, with the shops selling typical products of Valsesia. We then continue with a visit to the Sacro Monte, a UNESCO heritage site; 48 chapels that tell the story of the Bible from the Creation to the Resurrection of Christ. The statues are life-size. The Sacro Monte can be accessed on foot, by car or by cable car, the steepest in Europe, at a cost of €5 per person.

2nd day

Excursion to Lake Orta about an hour’s drive away at 40 km and, with a tourist boat crossing, visit to the Island of San Giulio. Afternoon at Monte Rosa (35 km and an hour’s drive) with a cable car ride up to 4000 meters.

3rd day

Full-day trip on Lake Maggiore (50 km and one hour of travel), with a visit to San Carlone, a statue in honor of San Carlo Borromeo, and a boat trip to the enchanting Borromean Islands, with the splendid gardens of Isola Madre and Isola Bella, the latter in bloom all year round thanks to crop rotation.

4th day

During the ski season, a trip to Mera, 25 km away. Or, at other times of the year, a visit to the sanctuary of Oropa, 50 km away and about an hour’s drive. Alternatively, trips to Milan, Turin or Pavia with its Certosa, all more or less equidistant from Varallo, between 110 and 130 km.
