Four new priests for the Doctrinaries Fathers. Burundian deacons Désiré Dusaberugira, Richard Niyonzima, François Nkurikiye and Godefroid Nshimirimana were ordained in Cavaillon, on Saturday 20 May 2023, during the celebration presided over by Monsignor François Fonlupt, bishop of Avignon.
Father Sergio La Pegna, superior general of the Doctrinaries, father Gian Mario Redaelli and father Enzo De Martino, father Paolo De Leo, head of the international seminar Cesare de Bus and numerous other confreres, religious and priests of the French diocese concelebrated.
Désiré Dusaberugira, Richard Niyonzima, François Nkurikiye and Godefroid Nshimirimana entered the Congregation in 2013 and studied philosophy and theology in Burundi, were ordained deacons in 2022 and completed their formation in Cavaillon, guided by Father De Martino, to deepen their doctrinair charism in the land of the founder, san Cesar de Bus.
In his homily, Bishop Fonlupt, after recalling that the priestly ministry places the ordained at the total service of the Christian community, concluded by inviting the new priests and all those present to always follow the invitation of Saint Caesar «all in you catechists, be a living catechism».
