New appointment for the young Cesar-stock. Here is Rodrigo’s story, the chronicle and, above all, an invitation to participate.
From 27 to 30 December 2024, about fifty young people participated in Ragusa – in the Jesuit House of Spirituality “Pietre Vive” – at the Cesar-stock, an event rich in spirituality, friendship and concrete action. The camp offered unforgettable experiences, integrating faith, learning and joy, and I tell it to invite you to be part of this story in the next meetings.
Day One: Serve with Love
On the first day we headed to the city of Vittoria. Half of the group stayed in the parish of Madonna Assunta, where we spent a morning of entertainment with conviviality and games together with the children assisted by the Missionary Sisters of Charity. The other half went to the Gerico Community, participating in recreational activities with the resident children.
In the afternoon, we all gathered in the Gerico Community to carry out various services and, at the end of the day, we listened to the testimony of Father Beniamino, founder of the community. He challenged us to persist in our dreams, emphasizing that, through prayer and work, we are able to overcome any difficulty.
Second day: reflection and sharing
The morning of the second day, in Ragusa, was dedicated to spirituality. The Jesuit Father Cesare introduced us to the exercise of the examination of conscience of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. This powerful method of reflection is structured in five steps:
- thank God for the benefits received;
- ask for the grace to know sins and eliminate them;
- examine in detail thoughts, words and deeds from the last prayer to the present moment;
- ask God for forgiveness for the lack of love;
- resolve to amend oneself with divine grace.
Thus stimulated, we had a moment of desert for personal reflection, followed by sharing in small groups on the experiences lived.
Evenings of meditation and resolutions
Cesar-stock is much more than an event: it is a vibrant community that comes together throughout the year, sharing games, friendship and faith. It is a space for young people to grow spiritually, learn to serve others and discern the paths of life with joy and love.
